Control Room Operator

WAVSYS is searching for a dedicated and passionate Control Room Operator to support a large solar services company in Austin TX.

The Operations Center is a 24/7 operation. This is a rotating shift assignment. Nights, weekends, and holiday work is required.

Continuously monitor operation of solar facilities to ensure compliance with safe operations, electrical system procedures, regulatory requirements, dispatch instructions, contractual obligations, and business unit objectives

• Using alarm monitoring systems, acknowledge, validate and report alarms to site personnel as required
• Create engineering logs, service requests and work orders as processes and procedures require in centralized maintenance management system (CMMS)
• Report all outages to all appropriate stakeholders
• Work closely with on-site operations to maximize availability and production
• Submit Energy Schedules with appropriate entities
• Perform diagnostic analysis of operating data to assess operating performance and identify abnormal performance conditions
• Effectively communicate abnormal conditions to management and/or stakeholders
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate IT issues
• Maintain all regulatory related training requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• Exemplary standards of safety, professionalism, integrity, sustainability, and entrepreneurship
• Willingness to work twelve hour rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 NERC Control Center
• 2+ years of directly related experience in a remote-operations control center environment (preferred)
• Previous work experience in the solar as a PV tech or utility industry as a generator operator (preferred)
• English/Spanish bilingual (preferred)
• Proficiency with SCADA systems (preferred)
• PJM Generator Operator qualified (preferred)
• Ability to read single-line diagrams
