Solar Designer (Carport)

This is an exceptional opportunity to work with a nationwide Solar Services company in either Boston, New York or New Jersey

Job Description:
Pay Rate $35/hr
Local to Boston/NY region preferred.
We are seeking a bright, self-motivated individual to join our Commercial & Industrial Solutions Team as a Solar Carport Designer.
Across the country, business leaders and property owners are working together with us to convert open parking areas into small-scale power plants. These simple utilitarian structures, provide covered, shaded parking and generate electricity.

Take ownership of all carport solar structural components from the point of sale through completion of construction, working with a team that includes the Senior Designer, Project Manager, Procurement Manager and Construction Manager.
Produce design deliverables from Planning Board Set through As-Built Set, including Site Plans,Framing Plans, Sections and Details.
Produce ‘Bill of Materials’ quantities for all required structural parts.
Review structural steel shop drawings.
Provide support during construction phase, including generating and answering RFIs.
Actively participate in reoccurring staff and stakeholder meetings and trainings.
Bachelor’s degree in architecture/engineering OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience.
Proficient with Revit (and AutoCAD). Revit experience in a design/engineering environment preferred.
Candidate has the option to work out of any East Coast office (Boston, New York, New Jersey). Remote work will be considered as well.
Some travel may be required.
