Assembly & Autofrettage Technologist

This is an exceptional opportunity to work with a nationwide Oil & Gas company in Katy, TX

Job Description:
Rate- $16-20/hr depending on experience plus overtime and medical benefits

• Assembly of components for manufacturing of fluid ends (frac pumps)
• Track and maintain identification for traceability of assemblies and parts.
• Maintain quality records.
• Assembly and disassembly of systems with high-pressure fittings, seals and plugs
• Setup and teardown of autofrettage high-pressure fixture
• Perform autofrettage high pressure process using pressure bay control system
• Troubleshoot failures during assembly and autofrettage
• Resolve problems associated with the assembly and autofrettage.
• Package and prepare items for shipping.
• Receiving items and placing into inventory.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Cross-trained in other departments to support production needs.

Experience and Knowledge Requirements
• Hands-on experience assembling large, heavy components
• Knowledge of mechanical lifting equipment, safe lifting practices and procedures
• Read technical and assembly drawings
• Use of hand tools, equipment operation, measure and setting tolerances for mechanical parts.

• Pressure related hazards and safety measures
• Automated and manual hydraulic pumps, gauges, seals, and fittings
• Identification of different types of seals (O-ring, bonded seals, metal to metal seals...) and their applications
• Seal installation procedures and equipment
• Inspection techniques used to determine surface finish
• Surface finish requirements for sealing applications
• Familiar with relevant workmanship standards
• Knowledge of Windows and Office 365 programs such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Previous Experience and Competencies
• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience working in an industrial environment
• Prior pump and / or engine assembly experience is desired. Prior oilfield (frac) equipment maintenance and / or operating experience is desired.
• Must have mechanical aptitude.
• Candidate must be able to demonstrate good organizational abilities, competency in their previous job roles and good interpersonal skills.
