About the Role
* Reporting to the Head of Development, the Director, Project Manager will provide tactical and strategic leadership for our newly acquired, mid-stage, green fuels project through divestment. You’ll represent Nova Clean Energy’s interests alongside our development team. This includes allocating resources, maintaining schedules, expense management, and serving as the project expert.
* Provide technical and strategic leadership of projects in coordination with multi-disciplinary teams in all phases of the execution and delivery for our clean energy and green fuels projects
* Develop, maintain, and regularly report status of key project milestones, performance data, and monthly, quarterly and annual project plans and budgets to executive leadership and investment committee; continuously finding cost savings throughout the project life cycle
* Support financial modeling of projects and prepare IC materials
* Facilitate and lead feasibility analyses, engineering and site design, project legal review, procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnect activities and financial negotiations
* Lead the negotiation of agreements for consultants and contractors
* Develop strong partnerships with and serve as the main point of contact for internal departments, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders regarding this and other clean energy and green fuels projects
* Maintain Nova’s high standards of safety for all parties resulting in zero lost time
* Serve as the subject matter expert for Nova on green fuels projects and pipeline development
* Stay apprised of all elements of green fuels value chain, particularly the cost of transport and point of sale delivery systems as well as local and global policies and regulations impacting green fuels
* The scope of this role will expand as our development portfolio grows.
About You
* A leader who relies on and trusts their team but knows at the end of the day, the decisions lie with you.
* 7+ years' experience with upstream project development or project management
* Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or another relevant field
* Proven experience delivering completed new-build projects for energy organizations (molecule experience preferable)
* Analytical eye for the commercialization of power and power-to-x projects
* Capably outline and discuss the procurement and sale of molecules with internal finance team
* Ability to build relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders across cross-functional teams to ensure successful projects
* Excellent communication skills
* Analytical thinker and creative problem solver
* This position will need to be located near Houston or Austin, Texas with an ability to travel up to 25%
