Job Description
A construction project manager oversees the entire building process for assigned projects from start to finish. They collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, upper management, and other project team members to determine deliverables and goals, produce a budget that aligns with the client’s expectations, organize and schedule construction, obtain permits, and negotiate vendor contracts to begin the build.
Once the project is underway, they manage all general contractors and set expectations by enforcing site safety regulations and regular equipment maintenance. Construction project managers typically work off-site at a construction company office with occasional on-site visits.
- Determine the project deliverables and specifications, including the project scope, necessary project resources, and estimated labor needed by collaborating with clients, engineers, and architects
- Calculate the cost estimate of all project tasks and accurately manage the project budget
- Plan and schedule the entire construction project, including construction operations and timelines to make sure project deadlines are met
- Acquire the appropriate licenses and permits from the corresponding authorities and ensure construction is up to code
- Work with general contractors, critical subcontractors, and external vendors to negotiate profitable contracts
- Manage general contractors and construction workers and give guidance as needed to ensure high-quality project performance
University Degree, Engineering preferred
Experience with Primavera
Valid Drivers License
